First a story, and then some punk rock. I traded my more expensive guitar for this 2009 Gibson SG Classic (and some much-needed cash). SG’s are my favorite—they’re really fun to play :) Back in the day I had an SG Faded but I had to sell it—I always regretted that. Now I have it back so to speak and I’m reminded of songs I wrote with that first SG. It’s bringing back memories and and even inspiring me to play more. The Crimson Road downloads I mention in the video are at crimsonroad.bandcamp.com
Nerd details: I actually made a double trade. My more expensive guitar that I had saved up money for months to buy in 2006 was a Gibson ES-335 That guitar is amazing but I needed the money much more than I needed such an expensive axe that I had to be so careful with. Due to the current economy it was hard to find a buyer for it but eventually I opted to trade it for a Fender American Vintage Series ‘52 Telecaster plus some cash for the difference. You can see that Tele in some of my recent videos—it’s a solid guitar no doubt, but when I found the guy with the virtually brand-new SG, it was a no-brainer to make the trade. If I ever mention selling this SG, then somebody stop me!
